LineMRKR™

Maloney LineMRKR's are designed to indicate the location of a buried line (pipeline, cable, conduit, etc.) and to identify its owner. The purpose is to assist construction crews from accidentally damaging such buried lines. Markers also serve as a warning to the general public that a buried line in the area.

Features:

  • LineMRKRs are made of ultraviolet-stabilized High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) to inhibit fading and warping from exposure to the elements. And unlike painted metal signs, they will not absorb water, peel, or rust. LineMRKR samples were tested by an independent testing laboratory according to the procedures in Federal (Military) Test Standard 191A, Method 5804, "Accelerated Severe Weathering Test."

  • Easy Installation Simply bury the base of the support post in the ground. An anchor tube, perpendicular to the support post in the buried portion of the post, prevents twisting or removal without completely excavating the LineMRKR.

  • High Visibility LineMRKR fittings are available in vivid colors selected to stand out in any background environment. Its 3-1/2" O.D. tubular design is highly visible from any angle as well as from the air. Optional fluorescent fittings increase visibility from any sight plane. Text messages are hot-stamped for durability into the fittings, not screen-printed or stenciled with an extra unique u-v clear coat to add longevity to print.

  • Vents are used to vent the crossing casing to the atmosphere to help maintain conditions for optimum cathodic protection.

  • Test Stations are used to monitor the effectiveness of the cathodic protection program.

  • Virtually No Maintenance:
Because LineMRKRs require no maintenance, their purchase assures low cost over the life of the installation.

    Non-Metallic Construction:
The HDPE construction is non-conductive and will not spark when struck. This eliminates the possibility of spark ignition, fire or explosion in hazardous combustible locations.

  • Wind Resistance:
The tubular configuration makes the Maloney LineMRKR less susceptible to "wind whip" - a common problem with 2-dimensional metal signs and other flat markers which have a large "footprint" in the wind.

LineMRKR9 / Test Station Combination:

The Maloney Combination Pipeline Marker and Test Station offers the versatility of a pipeline warning marker and a cathodic protection test station that is capable of :

  • Pipe-to-soil potential measurements
  • Measurements and/or restriction of anode current output
  • Measurements of IR drop along the pipeline
  • Tests for shorted casings and pipeline bondings
The cathodic protection Test Station is molded as part of the LineMRKR fitting. The combination LineMRKR/Test Station is also designed to enable test readings to be taken without removing the cover. Test lead terminal connections are available with 1/4" x 20 NC x 1-1/2" silicone-bronze machine screws with 2 nuts and washers, or highest quality non-corrosive 5-way hex-head binding post rated for 30 Ampere current capacity and 1000 Volt working voltage.
