The accordion-bellows design of this seal permits movement of the carrier pipe without damage to the seal. Its unique design facilitates installation and prevents damage from backfill. Multiflex End Seals are available in sizes from 2" x 4" through 42" x 48". Multiflex End Seals are made of oil-and water-resistant rubber, specially compounded and molded by Maloney for strength and resiliency. Where it fits over the end of the casing, the seal is 3/8" thick and the minimum thickness over the balance is 3/16". Circumferential ribs molded in the inner surface, where the bands squeeze the seal against the casing and carrier pipes, increase the contact pressure and insure a tight joint.

To install, end seal is slipped on to the carrier pipe before the tie-weld is made. After installing the carrier pipe in the casing, the seals are secured using 1/2" thumbscrew stainless steel bands (provided with each seal). Bands have rounded edges to protect seals and are easily tightened with pliers.
